This is a sample. Layla Mansour is not a real person, and the CV behind this diagnosis was written to demonstrate the format. Every diagnosis we deliver is written by hand from the actual CV in front of us, at this length and in this format.
The headline finding

Twelve years is a long time to be good at something, and the evidence is here. Agency and in-house, three sectors, campaigns you clearly ran rather than supported. Nobody reading this doubts you can do the work.

The problem is that it never says what you are. Hospitality, real estate and retail sit side by side with equal weight, and the profile opens by listing all three. A reader with thirty seconds has to decide which one you belong to, and whichever they pick, two thirds of your experience becomes irrelevant to them. Range reads as range to you and as uncertainty to them.

Everything that follows is aimed at that. Nothing needs adding. It needs ordering.

What is already working
The one thing costing you most

Your profile paragraph names three industries in its first line, and your headline reads Senior Marketing & Communications Manager, which describes a seniority rather than a specialism. Screening systems match on the specific, not the general, and a human reader scanning quickly does the same thing. They are not asking how experienced you are. They are asking what you are, so they know which pile you belong in.

So the CV arrives at a hospitality group and the first thing listed is real estate. It arrives at a developer and reads as retail. Both readers see someone capable who appears to belong somewhere else, and they move on. Not a judgement on your ability. A filing decision made in seconds.

The two numbers that should stop a reader, the 41% and the AED 64, sit in the fourth bullet of the second role. By the time anyone reaches them the decision has already been made.

Four changes, in order of impact
01

Decide what you are, then lead with it

Pick the sector you want next and put it in the headline. The other two do not disappear, they become the reason you are unusually well rounded. This is the single highest-return change available to you, and it costs ten minutes.

Suggested

Senior Marketing Manager · Hospitality & Lifestyle · UAE · 12 Years. Mirror it exactly on your LinkedIn headline so the two agree. If you want to pursue property seriously as well, build a second version rather than blurring one.

02

Move your two best numbers to the top of page one

A 41% lift in qualified enquiries and a cost per lead cut from AED 180 to AED 64 are the most persuasive facts you own. They currently appear on page two. Put both in the profile, in the first three lines, with the context that makes them credible.

Why it matters

Readers scan across the top of the page and down the left margin. Anything placed below the first third of page one is read only by people you have already convinced.

03

Cut the profile from five sentences to three

The current opening spends its first two sentences establishing that you are experienced, which the reader can see from the dates. Use that space for the budget you owned, the team you led and the result you produced.

Shape

Line one: what you are and how long in this market. Line two: the two numbers. Line three: what you are looking for next. Then stop.

04

Turn duty lists into outcomes, three bullets per role

Each role currently carries eight to eleven bullets, and most begin with Developed, Managed or Coordinated. Those describe the job, not your performance in it. Three outcome bullets per role will be read in full. Ten duty bullets will not be read at all.

Test

If a bullet would appear on the job advert for the same role, it is a duty and it is costing you space. If it could only be true of you, it stays.

What the research says

These recommendations are not preference. They come from how CVs are actually read at screening stage.

~30s

Average time a recruiter spends on a first read of a CV, measured across 114 recruiters. The observed range was 17 to 46 seconds.

Tegze, eye-tracking study, 2023
F-pattern

Readers scan across the top of the page, then down the left margin. Your headline and your left-hand column carry almost the entire decision.

Recruiter eye-tracking research
73%

Of recruiters say they will spend longer on a longer CV when the content is relevant. The one-page rule is a myth at senior level. Relevance beats length.

Recruiter survey data
One more thing about the UAE market in 2026

Applicant tracking and data-based screening are now standard for professional roles here, not just at the large groups. A machine reads your CV before a person does, and it matches on title and keyword. A title nobody searches for is not a presentation issue in that environment. It is a filter you never reach the other side of. That is why change 01 sits at the top of the list.

Where to start

None of this is about the quality of your career, which is not in question. It is about making a very fast reader reach the right conclusion without having to work for it. The record is already strong. This is the packaging catching up with it.
